On December 8th, the second session of the Medical Engineering Transformation and Breakthrough Action Forum focusing on innovation and standardized management in the pan-vascular field was successfully held in Room 103 of the Advanced Manufacturing Building annex at Shanghai University of Science and Technology. The event was hosted by the Oriental Pan-Vascular Instrumentation Innovation Academy at Shanghai University of Science and Technology and co-organized by the Eastern Medical Device Industry Technology Innovation Center and the Cardiovascular Physicians Innovation Club (CCI). The event was conducted in two sessions, morning and afternoon, chaired by Pei Zhiqiang and Zhang Hongjian, Assistant Deans of the Oriental Pan-Vascular Instrumentation Innovation Academy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Liu Ping, former Vice President of Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Director of the Degree Committee of the Oriental Pan-Vascular Instrumentation Innovation Academy, and Professor of the School of Materials and Chemistry, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the guests gathered at the Oriental Pan-Vascular Medical Device Innovation Academy. He expressed hope that through this event, participants could explore the latest research findings and cutting-edge technologies in the pan-vascular field, opening up new avenues for future medical device innovation and injecting fresh momentum into industrial development.
During the conference, participants from both the medical and engineering fields, both domestically and internationally, presented their research achievements and successful cases of transformation. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on future directions for medical-engineering collaboration.
Finally, after comprehensive evaluations, the judges scored the entries based on criteria such as innovation, clinical and social value, project progress, team dynamics, and risk assessment. Six projects were awarded gold, and four received honorable mentions.
